The Delhi High Court has issued a notice to the AAP government in response to a PIL to start kindergarten classes in government schools. The bench was headed by Justice Rajendra Menon and the petitioner was Shashi BhushanSonabhadra. The petition stated that it was important to start nursery classes in government schools as the children otherwise miss out on the two major formative years of school education.
The petitioner requested the court and the government to look into the matter and said that when the kids join school at the age of five they miss out on the basis education given them in the beginning of their lives. Emphasis was also given to transport conditions , as to how there is a huge crowd of cars outside the government schools at the beginning and end of school hours. Also there was a request for the urgent filling of vacancies in schools and how the pass percentage fell from above 90 to barely above 60 in 2018.
