A Delhi court today allowed the Delhi police to obtain a voice sample from the Punjabi actor Deep Sidhu for further investigation.
Deep Sidhu was arrested by Delhi police on Saturday in relation to the Republic Day Violence during the farmer tractor rally against the Central Government for new farm law.
Deep Sidhu who is presently in judicial custody in another F.I.R. registered to pertain the violence, Judge Sahil Gupta, Reliever MM Central, Tis Hazari Court ordered.
The Delhi police have sought a voice sample of Sidhu to “authenticate” and watch the videos which were uploaded by him on social media platform Facebook on the date of the Incident.
The Counsel of Sidhu contended that the application was an infringement of fundamental rights which was guaranteed under Articles 20 and 21 Of the Constitution of India. The panel also stated that that taking of voice sample was necessary only when the video in question disclose the commission of an offense, which was not the allegation in the present video.
The Court also rejected the Delhi police four-day custody of Sidhu and has sent him to judicial custody for 14 days.
Sidhu's bail plea in the ASI FIR will b heard by tomorrow by Delhi court, Tis Hazari Court.
