A man has been arrested in Uttrakhand’sAlmora District under the charge of posing as an Army Officer. He was trying to enter Chaubatti area, a high-security area where joint military training exercise has been going on since 16TH September between India and US and which will last till 29Th September. The accused, Rahul was in army uniform and also had Army CO (Commanding Officer) written on his car. Some army personnel tried to stop him but he was caught when he failed to produce valid identification documents. As a result, the vehicle of the accused was seized and handed over to the police authorities.
Consequent to this, he was questioned on why he was faking to be an Army Officer. It was stated by the other four persons present in the accused vehicle’s that they were sales tax officials who hired the vehicle for sightseeing. No FIR has been lodged against the four persons as of now.
However, the accused Rahul has been booked under various Sections of IPC inclusive of Section 140 for wearing or carrying token used by soldier, sailor, airman. He will be produced before the Court as a result.
