A notice has been issued to the Additional Advocate of Uttar Pradesh by the Supreme Court on a plea for security by a Muslim woman, who has been attacked with acid by her in-laws in Bulandshahr for approaching the Apex Court against Triple Talaq and NikahHalala. The Bulandshahr police has appointed two constables to give security to the victim.
The victim is currently out of danger and is discharged from the hospital. The woman approached the SC challenging polygamy and NikahHalala on being divorced by her husband by the practice of Triple Talaq.
NikahHalala is a practice in which divorced Muslim wife can remarry her husband after marrying another person and consummating the relationship with him before separating. In the petition it has been stated by her that she got married in the year 2010 and has three daughters. However, her husband remarried another woman in 2015 and threw his first wife and three daughters out of her home. However, she was later taken back in the house after the in-laws were being pressurized by the local residents, the victim and her daughters.
