The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2019 will be conducted offline due to multiple technical glitches marred in past. The decision was taken at the 4th meeting of the consortium of National Law Universities, held on Wednesday,October 17 at the National Law School Of India University(NLSIU), Bangalore under the chairmanship of Prof Faizan Mustafa, Vice-Chancellor, NALSAR, Hyderabad and the President of the consortium. A press release also informs that the feasibility of making CLAT online would depend on future requirements.
The Permanent CLAT secretariat was inaugurated by President of the consortium Prof.Faizan Mustafa and NLIU Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President of the consortium Prof.Vijaykumar, in the newly built building of NLSIU, Bangalore. The CLAT secretariat will function from its permanent office at Bangalore. They have also decided to create a permanent website for CLAT.
The consortium also decided to include a subjective portion in 2019 PG CLAT.The CLAT executive committee will work on the subjective portion, to improve the quality of the question paper a question bank will be created with contribution from experts , a workshop will be held in collaboration with NAAC and UGC ON evolving objective and parameters for the accreditation of NLU’s by NAAC and other accreditation agency.CLAT will be conducted in other centres/cities as well depending on the number of candidates.
