The Kerala High Court dismissed a plea for a CBI probe into the case by the eighth accused in the infamous actress abduction case, actor Dileep.
The actress was allegedly abducted on February 17th last year while she was on her way to Kochi from Thrissur. Pulsar Suni, the prime accused of the said case, drove her around for two hours and allegedly molested her after he and others had forced their way into the vehicle on February 2017. She was dropped near the home of director-actor Lal, who later called the police. Dileep was arrested on July 10 and released on bail after 85 days in custody. The Kerala High Court on October 3 granted him bail with stringent conditions. Six persons, including the key accused Pulsar Suni, were arrested in connection with the abduction and molestation of a Malayalam Actress.
The Kerala High Court bench headed by Justice Sunil Thomas observed that the accused cannot demand which agency should investigate the case against him and also rejected his contention that investigation by Kerala Police was biased. The decision was observed after the Government raised that Dileep had expressed no doubts on the impartiality of Kerala Police during the investigation, also alleging that the plea has been filed with the intentions of delaying the trial.
