Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) head Arvind Kejriwal on February 20 addressing the gathering at the Delhi Tis Hazari Court where he announced social security schemes for lawyers in Delhi, where is allocated the annual budget of Rs 50 Crores in Delhi’s Budget that would be used in the welfare of the lawyers.
In 2001 the Delhi Government granted initial funding of Rs. 1 crore, in the enactment of Advocates’ Welfare Fund Act, 2001 and in November last year, the Bar Council of Delhi asked CM seeking an annual grant of Rs. 10 crores.
On Wednesday the Delhi Bar council organized the event in the honour of Mr. Kejriwal and Delhi Law Minister Kailash Gehlot, this function was attended by nearly 5,000 lawyers. Where he announced social security for the lawyers. Further, he declared that the grant of Rs 50 crores is not a ‘one-time’ grant but it is a recrudesce in nature and it will increase every year.
Beside this, he also announced that after the Lok Sabha election the government will direct the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission to change the electricity connection of their chambers from commercial to the domestic so that you can save electricity bills and also provide subsidiary around 230 crore to the lawyer so they can reduce the subsidy.
The CM asked them to vote to AAP in the forthcoming election so they can keep this issue in front of the parliament and get the full statehood status and also assured that the government would implement their demand for housing schemes.
The Delhi Assembly budget session will start from February 22; it is seven days budget session, where he will place all this point in the state budget session.
