The autobiography named “The Incomplete Man” by Vijaypat Singhania was restrained by Bombay High Court to be published till 13th of March.
Raymond Limited in Thane and Raymond Group chairman and Vijaypat's estranged son Gautam Singhania in a Mumbai court has filed suits for injunction against the autobiography.
Justice Sandeep K Shinde has ordered that the suit is pending before Civil judge and so till March 13th it should not be published.
On March 13, the high court will hear arguments on Vijaypat's plea for transfer of suit from the Thane court to Mumbai civil court. The matter before the Thane court is listed for February 28. In the suit pending in the Thane court, Raymond Limited, represented by Senior Advocate Girish Godbole, briefed by KN Legal led by Kartik Nayar along with Rishab Kumar and Sarthak Malhotra, has sought a pre-publication injunction on the autobiography on the ground that it contains defamatory contents, confidential information, and other trade secrets.
The company has also alleged that the autobiography titled as 'The Incomplete Man' is an obvious reference to the company's tagline 'The Complete Man' and hence, disparages the company's registered trademarks. The father and the son have been embroiled in a legal battle over a duplex apartment in the 36-story JK House in the posh Malabar Hills.
