Two judicial officers are to be appointed as judges of the Andhra Pradesh High Court. It has been cleared by the Central Government.The two judicial officers are Cheekati Manavendranath Roy and M Venkata Ramana. Their names were recommended by the Supreme Court judges for theelevation to High Court on April 15, 2019.
The names of the officers had been recommended for elevation by the Chief Justice of the erstwhile common High Court for the States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh in September 2018. The Collegium had considered factors such as suitability, along with including inputs by the Department of Justice, as well as personal interaction. Further, five other judicial officers were also been recommended for elevation as High Court judges by the High Court Collegium. However, the Supreme Court Collegium had deferred the same.
