Darvesh Yadav,who was the first woman to be appointed as the chairperson of the UP Bar Council, was shot dead inside the Agra district court premises when she was attending a welcome ceremony. The FIR was filed by her relative, Suny Yadhav. His complaint stated that Vadana Sharma, wife of Manish Sharma had threatened Yadhav that anybody who asked for money or a vehicle from her husband will have to pay with his/her life and also Manish Sharma had forcibly taken possession of the chamber of Yadhav.
As per the FIR lawyer, Vineet Gulecha, had abetted a crime. He had gone to assailant house and brought him to welcome ceremony. Manish Sharma shot himself after incident and was admitted to hospital.
The Bar Council of India (BCI) has demanded for at least Rs. 50 lakh for the family members from Uttar Pradesh government. Further, the BCI also expressed concern over the safety of them and state Bar Councils members and also lawyers and their representatives in the country.
The BCI has resolved to observe one day mourning in Uttar Pradesh. The Ghaziabad Bar association and Uttar Pradesh Tax association, have also called for abstention from work for a day
