A judge in Agra allegedly asked a police officer a driver with Agra police, age 58, to take off his shirt, belt and cap and made to stand in court for almost an hour on Friday as punishment for not giving passage to his car. The matter was then brought to the knowledge of UP DGP Om Prakash Singh, who stood by the dignity of each and every police personnel. “The constable, having a good track record, was much disturbed after the incident and wanted voluntary retirement but was consoled,” the SSP said. Despite repeated efforts, the judge could not be reached for his comments on the issue. On Saturday, the Registrar General of the High Court ordered the transfer of Judge Santhosh Kumar Yadav, from the post of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate of Agra to that of Secretary (full time), District Legal Services Authority of Mahoba.
