Fourteen individuals will have to appear for trials who are accused in the case of the attacks on Charlie Hebdo newspaper and the others, which had triggered strikes in France. This trial is about to take place starting from May 4th to July 10th 2020. The jihadist attacks had claimed more than seventeen lives of people within three days in the places near about Paris and also in Paris. The deceased included some of the well - known cartoonists that existed in France. On the first day around twelve people were killed in the Chalrlie Hebdo offices by Cherif Kouachi along with his brother Said, which were then followed by another series of attacks the next day on which has shot a policewoman by other gunmen and four got killed in a supermarket. The gunmen were shot dead by the police authorities. The people who are arrested are fourteen in number and are accused of the charges of providing with logistical help to the jihadists attackers to carry on the attacks.
The case is now about to be heard by a special court in Paris. Out of the fourteen accused, eleven are in police custody while the trial is about to happen in the absence of the remaining three accused. Reports also suggest that the other three might be dead after bombing in the area of the jihadist area. The main terrorist organisation behind the attacks is suggested to be al-Quaida. Among the fourteen accused include Hayat Boumedienne, brothers Mohammed and Mehdi Belhoucine.
It is to be noted that the chain of attacks that began with the Charlie Hebdo attacks in France have witnessed a death toll of more than two hundred and fifty five lives till now. This number includes the attacks on Bataclan concert hall which had claimed ninety lives and other attacks on 13th November, 2015.
