The National Green Tribunal directed the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) to collect the water samples from the mansi ganga khund lake for testing it ssafety and potability, also directed the board to take actions against the people who pollute the lake by discharging sewage water in it. The Green Tribunal has also directed the Pollution Control Board (Uttar Pradesh) to submit a report within 10 days, The Green Bench headed by Hon'ble Justice Rhaghuvendra S Rathore to ensure the pollution management levels (water pollution levels) within the Mansi Ganga Khund said "The Pollution Control Board shall exercise its power under the provisions mentioned in Water Pollution (Prevention and Control) Act, 1974, by taking necessary actions against the offendors or the persons who are polluting the lake or discharging sewage in the khund, the board at the same time while exercising its power shall not allow to any person to discharge domestic waste or sewage in the Khund".
The order stated earlier, the UP government had told the court that the complete discharge of biodegradable pollution from the homes in this space has been connected to a system resulting in the sewage treatment plant in the Mansi Khund. The bench passed the directions to UPPCB to ensure a permanent solution in respect of the complaint made by the applicants. The tribunal was hearing a plea filed by Mathura-based Giriraj Parikarma Sanrakshan Sansthan and others, seeking compliance of the NGT's order on August 4, 2015 for directions.
Advocate Sarthak Chaturvedi told that he informed the subject matter concerning discharge of biodegradable domestic waste ans sewage from homes within the section of the khund, hard remedial steps within the material, He said Mansi Ganga khund is the centre of faith for thousands of tourists and the local people. Who take holy dip in it with the belief of freeing themselves from their sins and devoting to Lord Krishna.
