The Prime Minister of Vietnam, Nguyen Xuan Phuc had ordered the authorities to investigate into the incident that occurred on October 23 in which thirty-nine people were found dead in the back of a truck. The investigation was to determine whether the deceased people are citizens of Vietnam or not. Moreover, it is also ordered to look into the issue of human trafficking in the state. A preliminary enquiry by the police suggests that at least some of the people out of thirty-nine might hail form a country situated in South East Asia. The Prime Minister cautioned against any violation against the law and demanded the reports to be finalised by November 5. Reports from the Foreign Ministry suggested that it had instructed the London embassy to lend its assistance to the British Police in order to identify the deceased victims successfully.
The suspects behind the unfortunate crime are to be suggested as two men and a woman. They have been accused on the grounds of manslaughter and conspiracy. Among the people who got bail from the Court were Joanna, Thomas Maher who are aged thirty-eight, hails from Cheshire and a man who is 46 years old who hails from Ireland. A teenager is suspected to be the youngest among the victims who had been killed. Till now only five people had been arrested in relation to the crime.
After the news of the alleged crime had spread across the media, many families in Vietnam had expressed their concerns over their deceased relatives. It is reported that the police authorities are taking the samples of DNA from those people who are claiming that their deceased are among those who have been killed in the crime. The examination of the police authorities has become tougher as very few of the victims were carrying any kind of identity cards.
