In the Supreme Court, a PIL was filed seeking directions for vacating Fake Babas Ashrams, including the Adhyatmika Vishwa Vidyalaya in Rohini, Delhi, to avoid the spread of COVID19 where hundreds of women being detained in an unhygienic situation.
In-person the petitioner Dumpala Ramreddy is a father of a girl who was stuck at Rohini by Fake baba Mr. Veerendra Dev Dixit founder of 'Adhyatmika Vishwa Vidyalaya.' Petitioner believed there are hundreds/thousands of disciples who reside in the country and national capital in 17 Fake Ashrams. He said his daughter was one of those people that Fake Babas had captured. Many criminal cases against this baba (Veerendra Dev Dixit) have been reported in different states, but ashrams are not closed by authorities and the government does not trace the source of money to these Babas / Ashrams.
Many of these Fake babas have been arrested and jailed for breaching the law and human rights in recent years. Many of these have been accused of murder and rape, including girl girls, of woman inmates. The petition was favoured on the grounds that government authorities 'inaction with false babas and allowing their illegal ashrams to operate in unauthorized buildings and refusing to check the source of money is contrary to Articles 14 & 21 of the Indian Constitution.
In addition, the petitioner also seeks guidance for framing guidelines regarding the establishment of Ashrams / spiritual centres. He prayed in his petition that the central and state government should be guided to vacate the ashrams run by false babas, including the 'Adhyatmik Vishwa Vidyalaya' which is situated in Rohini Delhi, in which hundreds of women live in unhygienic conditions. And also sought guidance from the government to close these ashrams that are run by individuals with criminal records and who also do not maintain registers of inmates, and accounts.
