G20 (or Group of Twenty) is an international forum for the governments and central bank governors from 19 countries and the European Union.The main objective of G20 is to address issues that go beyond the responsibilities of any one organization.On wednesday, 25th march, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted that he is looking forward to attend the G20 which will be going to head via video conference on thursday (26th March,2020) to discuss the coronavirus pandemic or Covid-19.He further said that G20 has an important role to play in addressing the Covid-19 pandemic.There is no official news from Riyand regarding the G20, but a person familiar with planning for the summit has confirmed that it will going to held on thursday,26th March.The leaders from each group and European Union will discuss the global coronavirus crises via video conference to develop an action plan which will help the countries to halt coronavirus or Covid-19.On monday a virtual meeting of the G20 finance ministers and central bank governors was held to discuss the impact of novel coronavirus on the global economy and preparations for the virtual leader's summit.According to the report the meeting has been organised over a telephonic conversation between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salam.Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also contacted the Australian Prime Minister,Scott Morrison on the matter.Due to the impact of the coronvirus experts had predicted a recession across the countries in the coming months.Saudi Arabia is a current president of G20 who called for the virtual summit.In a conference call of G20 Finance Minister and Central Bank Governors,Kristalina Georgieva who is the Managing Director of International Monetary Fund said that,it is not possible to measure the humans effected from coronavirus pandemic so to protect the people and to limit the economic damage it is very necessary that all countries should work together against the coronavirus pandemic.According to the statement from Saudi Arabia, the G20 leaders are expected to "put forward a coordinated set of policies to protect people and to safeguard the global economy form Covid-19.If necessary steps are not taken now to stop this virus from spreading than the global economy will be damage along with a huge loss of human life from the earth.
