The center, in the continuance of its transfer spree, orders the transfer of two High Court Judges. The President of India, via an order, dated March 27, 2020, notified the transfer of Justice S N Satyanarayana and Justice Alok Singh, to Punjab and Haryana High Court and Allahabad High Court, respectively.
Justice Alok Singh, previously posted at the Uttarakhand High Court, started his legal practice in 1982 was elevated as a judge of the Uttarakhand High Court in October 2009, after he represented various state governments and the central government at both state level and the Supreme Court of India. He has been transferred twice before to Punjab and Haryana High Court and High Court of Jharkhand, before he took charge of office in the High Court of Uttarakhand, in 2009.
Justice S N Satyanarayana, who has been asked to take charge of office at the Punjab and Haryana High Court, is currently posted in the High Court of Karnataka. His transfer comes after the recommendation made by the Supreme Court Collegium in a meeting held on February 24. Justice S N Satyanarayana, born in 1959, enrolled as an advocate, in 1983. He started his legal career at Bangalore and was appointed as an Additional Judge at the High Court of Karnataka, in 2008, before he was made Permanent Judge, in 2012.
