Mumbai based screenwriter Ripu Daman Jaiswal has accused the makers of movie Padman of plagiarism with regards to the film. He has alleged that certain scenes from the film have been taken from his script on the same subject, which he had sent to the office of Dharma Productions and also filmmaker Vikram Aditya Motwane. He had elaborately mentioned about these incident in a long Facebook post where he has said that even after having registered the film on 5th of December 2016 with screen writers association, scenes got were copied from his script. He has further said that 10 days post the registration he actually got information about Twinkle Khanna making a film on the same subject. He has claimed that almost 11 scenes have been copied from his script and that he intends to approach the court for proper redressal of the loss that has occurred to him. Few important scenes that he alleges to have been copied were the Rakshabandhan scene, in real life Arunachalam Muraganantham on whose life the film is based has no sister. He has also alleged that certain dialogues delivered by Amitabh Bachchan in the film have also been taken by the makers from his script.
