A Delhi court on Thursday conceded bail to Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) University understudy Asif Iqbal Tanha, in a matter identified with extreme violence close to Jamia Millia Islamia University during the protest against Citizenship Amendment Act in December last year. Tanha was arrested on May 17 while the charge sheet was filed on February 12 for the situation and he had showed up before the police over the span of examination, the request said. Advocate Sowjhanya Shankaran, representing Tanha, told that court that he has been erroneously ensnared for the situation. She further said that he was the portent earning member from his family and used to work for less in an eatery. The bail request asserted that there were no particular charges of violence against him in the chargesheet and he has not been involved in any demonstration of violent character. Shankaran further said that Tanha was prepared and ready to comply with any condition which might be imposed upon him while giving bail to him.
