It has been the second case in Assam in a week that a youth was killed in mob lynching. The incident happen in the Eastern Assam jorhat district on 29th may, when a 23 year old man with his friend were going on a bike and allegedly the head to women passing by and they were lynched by a mob. It has been the second case as just before 1 week there was a middle age vegetable vendor that faced the similar situation and was scccumbed in the kamlapur district because of mob lynching. The incident of 29th May when identified and the incident was recorded the the officials of jorhat district said that the man is identified as Debasish Gogoi, resident of Nakachari Milgaonwhich is near mariani town, was badly injured on Saturday night when taken to 20 KMs away the Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH). Some of the eye witness have been found and they said that the “the incident happened after an accident on a road to a picnic spot through the Gabharu Parbat Tea Estate close to the border with Nagaland.” Riding on a two wheeler the boy and his friend aditaya das were restricted from going inside the picnic spot by the watchman of tea estate’s. There was a little quarrel but then the situation was controlled but both of them allegedly hit two women which were working as plantation workers and we’re going back to their respective homes. Mr aditaya das explained the incident “Our two-wheeler skidded and the accident happened in front of the garden’s tea factory. A crowd gathered and began raining blows and kicks on us,” he is being cured at JMCH. The Deberapar Police post have the jurisdiction where the incident happened and the in charge of the outpost R.Dutta said “We are interrogating four people who have been picked up in connection with the incident. A case has been registered against them,” and will arrest the remaining soon.
