NIA had challenged the May 27 order in the top court
The Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered a stay of proceedings on a petition for bail filed by civil rights campaigner Gautam Navlakha in the Delhi High Court in connection with the BhimaKoregaon violence case. Bhima Koregaon violence refers to the attack on visitors during an annual celebratory gathering at Bhima koregaon to mark the 200th year of the battel of Bhima Koregaon victory. Delhi High Court has pulled up the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for "hurriedly transferring" social activist Gautam Navlakha, who is facing probe for his alleged role in the Bhima Koregaon violence case, to Mumbai.A bench of Justice Anup Jairam Bhambhani on Wednesday said that frantic hurry was shown by the NIA in moving Navlakha from Delhi to Mumbai while a matter related to his interim bail plea was pending and the NIA had itself sought time to file a status report. The NIA officer had explained that its “hurry” to get production warrants was done in the background of the uncertainty surrounding the lockdown and availability of interState flights. The High Court had asked the NIA to file an affidavit and a “complete copy” of the proceedings for Mr. Navlakha’s production warrant before the Special Judge (NIA), Mumbai. The High Court had fixed the hearing for June 3.Following this development, the NIA urgently challenged the May 27 order in the Supreme Court.Basically this is the directive given by the supreme court to the Delhi High court .March 2018 - A think tank called Forum for integrated national Security (FINS), mainly consisting of retired army officers, released a report on the Bhima Koregaon riots. It also blamed the Maharashtra Police for "apathy" and overlooking evidence. This is very severe attack which is done by some arrogant people in india .
