Erstwhile Supreme Court judge Justice R K Agrawal has been designated the President of the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC). He will take the charge from Justice D K Jain, who will complete his term on May 31. As far as his education is concerned, Justice Agrawal completed his law degree from Allahabad University and was enlisted as an Advocate in 1976. Subsequent to completion of his law degree, firstly, he joined the chamber of his father Mr. Raja Ram Agarwal, a Senior Advocate and erstwhile Advocate General of Uttar Pradesh. Under the guidance of his father he practiced and dealt with Constitutional, Company, Service, Educational and Taxation matters. Afterwards, he contrived and worked as the Standing Counsel of the Income Tax Department of the Government of India as well. Justice Agrawal was nobly positioned as a permanent judge of the Allahabad High Court in 1999. Thereafter, he was administered as the Acting Chief Justice of the Madras High Court in February. It was only in 2013 that he acquired the office of Chief Justice of the High Court ten months later. In February, 2014, he was upraised to the Supreme Court and after a completion of term of four years retired this month.
