Karnataka government passed new order overturning earlier decision dated June 15th allowing schools to conduct online classes temporarily till the expert committee files its report.
The state government has mentioned the division bench comprising Justices Abhay Shreeniwas Oka and Natraj Rangaswamy the new interim order passed will allow online classes to be conducted for limited time frame.
Interim Guidelines:
Pre primary - On any one day of the weak for not more than 30mins with the parent supervision .
1st to 5th - 3days in a week and not more than 2 sessions per day (30 - 45min per session).
6th to 8th - 5 days in a week and not more than 2 sessions per day (30-45min per session).
9th and 10th - 5 days in a week and not more than 4 sessions per day (30-45min per session).
The State further asserted that new comprehensive order will be passed based on the guidelines issued by union ministry of human resource development (MHRD).
Mansoor Ali Khan, General secretary of management of independent CBSE and one of the petitioner Pointed out that government decisions will give rise to ambiguities in parents mind.
Nagasimha G Rao, director of child right trust said, " the order does not serve the purpose. The state government must soon come up with the comprehensive order".
Senior Advocate Uday Holla representing one of the petitioner said " Private players are continuing to provide online classes and making roaring business and for private players there was no restrain".
The division bench further expressed " Unless your expert committee finds obnoxious in present pattern. why you are doing all this? ".
Thus After Petitioners placed their arguments pushed the interim government order to stay for which court replied, there has to be a challenge to the interim order, in return granted 2weeks time for all the petitioners to make the necessary amendments in their pleas.
