After the detection of two COVID-19 cases, all court work including virtual hearings has been suspended at National Company Law Appellate Tribunal till July 10.
According to a Notice dated July 2, a staff member tested positive for COVID-19 on June 26, 2020.
From that point onwards, mandatory sanitation and fastening of the NCLAT premises was done.
Furthermore, a group of Doctors from National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) gathered test samples from the Acting Chairperson, different Members, Officers of the Registry and the staff who interacted with the infected individual, directly or otherwise.
Lamentably, one of them has likewise tried positive for the infection, it is informed. A few individuals from the Staff have come in direct contact with the infected individual warranting following of the compulsory standards regarding the Guidelines given by the Government, for guaranteeing individual wellbeing of all concerned and to forestall any danger or peril to human life it has been chosen to increase the suspension of Court work to empower all the concerned individual to observe home quarantine. The Notice states,
"…some members of the Staff have come in direct contact with the affected person warranting following of the mandatory norms in terms of the Guidelines issued by the Government, for ensuring personal safety of all concerned and to prevent any peril or hazard to human life it has been decided to extend the suspension of Court work to enable all concerned to observe home quarantine.", the Notice states.
Likewise, all court work including virtual hearing and filing shall stay suspended till July 10.
"It is accordingly notified that the court work (virtual hearing) and filing etc. in the NCLAT will remain suspended till 10th July 2020," the notice read.
