The Chief Justice of India while addressing a departing speech in National Conference on ‘Initiative to reduce pendency and delays in judicial systems’ mentioned, a modern and progressive approach is required to deal with the court congestion. He stated that judges must take the burden of judicial leadership and managerial skills of his court and case before him.

He further laid emphasis on the discussion regarding development of technology and introducing it in the court functioning. He also mentioned that the measures that were taken by several Chief Justices of various HCs, in improving the status of pendency cases needs to be referred as an example as well as a motivation to take introduce such kinds of steps.
He praised the step of implementation of e-committees by the SC, due to which all courts of India have been computerized.
He also recommended to circulate all the discussions made in all the sessions to all the HCs so that they can refer and try to implement them.
In the end of the address he stated with hope that the conference will help the judiciary to improve the conditions, commitment that the judiciary had with the judicial system of strengthening and its growth.
