Kerala: A god’s own country has been destroyed by the extreme floods. There is a lot of havoc over there. Death toll in Kerala has crossed 324. Over 2.23 lakh people have been shifted to relief camps. Besides the monetary compensation, people need shelter, blankets, food for the survival. The basic necessities of a man’s survival has been completely diminished. Over 3 lakh homes and 10,000 kilometers of road has been destroyed. Rescue operations are also been undertaken by the National Disaster Response Force.
Even the Supreme Court lawyers have organized a drive to collect the relief material such as bed sheets, sanitary napkins, diapers etc. to be sent to Kerala. The material will be distributed by the navy who have agreed to send the aircrafts to do so.
The Attorney General and the senior advocates have contributed to the Chief Minister’s Disaster Fund and even the Supreme Court Bar Association has contributed to the fund raising drive.
