COUNCIL OF INDIA ACT, 1907

An Act to amend the Lam as to the Council of India. Be it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-
SECTION 01: NUMBER OF MEMBERS OF COUNCIL
-The Council of India shall consist of such number of members, not less than ten and not more than fourteen, as the Secretary of State may from time to time determine.
SECTION 02: AMENDMENT OF 21 & 22 VICT., C. 106
-Insection 10 of the Government of India Act, 1858, the words "more than five years" shall be substituted for the words more than ten years".
SECTION 03: SALARIES
-Section 13 of the same Act shall, as regards any member appointed after the passing of this Act, be read and construed as if the words one thousand pounds were substituted for the words one thousand two hundred pounds.
SECTION 04: TERM OF OFFICE
-Section 2 of the Government of India Act, 1869, shall, as regards any appointment made after the passing of this Act, be read and construed as if the word "seven" were substituted for the word "ten".
SECTION 05: REPEAL OF VICT., C. 7
- TheCouncil of India Act, 1876, and theCouncil of India Reduction Act, 1889, are hereby repealed.
SECTION 06: SHORT TITLE
-This Act may be cited as theCouncil of India Act, 1907
