THE JHARKHAND HOME GUARD (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2012
[Act No. 16 of 2012]
AN ACT further to amend the section 8(1) of the Jharkhand Home Guards Act, 2005 (Jharkhand Act 03, 2006) having Notification no. 43, dated the 25th January, 2006 in its application to the State of Jharkhand.
Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of Jharkhand in the Sixty Third year of the Republic of India as follows:-
Section 1 - Short title, extent and commencement
1. This Act will be called the Jharkhand Home Guards Act, 2005 (Jharkhand Act 03, 2006) (Jharkhand Amendment) Act, 2012.
2. It shall extend to the whole of the State of Jharkhand.
3. It shall come into force from the date of Notification in the official Gazette.
Section 2 - Amendment of Section 8(1) of the Jharkhand Home Guards Act, 2005 (Jharkhand Act 03, 2006)
The Section 8(1) of the Jharkhand Home Guards Act, 2005 (Jharkhand Act 03, 2006) will be Substituted as follows:-
Subject to any rules made in this behalf, a Home Guard shall be required to serve the State Government for period of four years (including the period spent in training) and shall be liable to be called out for duty at any time but not beyond the age of 58 (fifty eight) years.
