THE ORISSA MUNICIPAL COUNCILS (POSTPONEMENT OF ELECTIONS) AMENDMENT ACT, 1988

An Act to Amend the Orissa Municipal Councils (Postponement of Elections) Act, 1984
BE it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Orissa in the Thirty-ninth year of the Republic of India as follows:-
Short title and commencement.
1. (1) This Act may be called the Orissa Municipal Councils (Postponement of Elections) Amendment Act, 1988.
(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 31st day of December, 1987.
Amendment of section-3
Orissa Act 9 of 1984
2. In clause (b) of section 3 of the Orissa Municipal Councils (Postponement of Elections) Act, 1984 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), for the words, figures and letters “the 31st December, 1987” the word, figures and letters “the 31st December, 1988” shall be substituted.
Repeal and savings.
Orissa Ordinance No. 4 of 1987.
3. (1) The Orissa Municipal Councils (Postponement of Elections) Amendment) Ordinance, 1987 is hereby repealed.
(2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the principal Act, as amended by the said Ordinance shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the principal Act as amended by this Act.
