THE ORISSA OFFICES OF PROFIT (REMOVAL OF DISQUALIFICATIONS) ACT, 1937

An Act to provide for the removal of certain disqualifications for election to the Orissa Legislative Assembly.
Preamble.
Whereasit is expedient to provide, in accordance with clause (a) of sub-section (1) of section 69 of the Government of India Act, 1935, that the holders of the offices of profit under the Crown in India hereinafter mentioned shall not be disqualified for election to the Orissa Legislative Assembly;
It is hereby enacted as follows:-
Short title, extent and commencement.
1.(1) This Act may be called the Orissa Offices of Profit (Removal of Disqualifications) Act, 1937.
(2) It extends to the whole of the Province of Orissa.
(3) It shall come into force at once.
Removal of disqualification.
2. A person shall not be disqualified for being chosen as, and for being, a member of the Orissa Legislative Assembly by reason only of the fact that he hold the office of a Parliamentary Secretary to a Minister if and when it is created.
