AN ACT FURTHER TO AMEND THE ORISSA PANCHAYAT SAMITIS (POSTPONEMENT OF ELECTION) ACT, 1990
BE it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Orissa in the Forty-Second Year of the Republic of India as follows:-
Short title commencement
1. (1) This Act may be called the Orissa Panchayat Samitis (Postponement of Election) Second Amendment Act, 1991.
(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 29th day of June, 1991.
Amendment of Section 3
Orissa Act 6 of 1960.
2. In section 3 of the Orissa Panchayat Samitis (Postponement of Election) Act, 1990 ( hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), in clause (a) of sub-section (1), for the figures, letters and word “31st July, 1991”, the figures, letters and word “31st January, 1992” shall be substituted.
Repeal and savings
Ordinance No.5 of 1991
3. (1) The Orissa Panchayat Samitis (Postponement of Election) Amendment Ordinance, 1991 is hereby repealed.
(2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the principal Act as amended by the said Ordinance shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the principal Act as amended by this Act.
