AN ACT TO VALIDATE THE REGISTRATION OF CERTAIN DOCUMENTS
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Orissa in the Thirty-third Year of the Republic of India, as follows:-
Short title.
1. This Act may be called the Orissa Registration of Documents (Validation) Act, 1982.

2. Notwithstanding anything contained in the Registration Act, 1908 or in any Judgement, decree or order of any Court, the registration of documents made between the period beginning with the 1stday of January, 1949 and ending with the 31st day of January, 1959 by the Head Clerk of any Office of Sub-Registration the absence of the Sub-Registrar under the belief that he had been duly appointed under section 12 of that Act to be the Sub-Registrar during the period of such absence, shall for all intents and purposes, be deemed to have been validly made, and no document so registered shall be called in question in any Court of Law merely on the ground that the said Head Clerk had not been duly appointed to be the Sub-Registrar as aforesaid.
