TAMIL NADU CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETIES (APPOINTMENT OF SPECIAL OFFICERS) SECOND AMENDMENT ACT, 2008

An Act further to amend the Tamil Nadu Co-operative Societies (Appointment of Special Officers) Act, 1976.
 
Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Tamil Nadu in the Fifty-ninth Year of the Republic of India as follows:—
 
1.Short title and commencement.—(1) This Act may be called the Tamil Nadu Co-operative Societies (Appointment of Special Officers) Second Amendment Act, 2008.
 
(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 6th day of August 2008.
 
2.Amendment of Section 4.— In Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Co-operative Societies (Appointment of Special Officers) Act, 1976 (President’s Act 25 of 1976) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), in sub-section (1), for the expression ‘thirty two years and two months’, the expression ‘thirty two years and eight months’ shall be substituted.
 
 
3. Repeal and saving.- (1) The Tamil Nadu Co-operative Societies (Appointment of Special Officers) Second Amendment Ordinance, 2008. (Tamil Nadu Ordinance 5 of 2008) is hereby repealed.
 
(2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the principal Act, as amended by the said Ordinance, shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the principal Act, as amended by this Act.
