TAMIL NADU COURT-FEES AND SUITS VALUATION (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2007

An Act further to amend the Tamil Nadu Court-Fees and Suits Valuation Act, 1955.
Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Tamil Nadu in the Fifty-eighth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-
1. Short title and commencement. – (1) This Act may be called the Tamil Nadu Court-Fees and Suits Valuation (Amendment) Act, 2007.
(2) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification, appoint.
2. Insertion of new Section 69-A. – After Section 69 of the Tamil Nadu Court-Fees and Suits Valuation Act, 1955 (Tamil Nadu Act XIV of 1955), the following Section shall be inserted, namely:-
“69-A. Refund on settlement of disputes under Section 89 of Code of Civil Procedure – Where the Court refers the parties to the Suit to any one of the modes of settlement of dispute referred to in Section 89 of the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 (Central Act V of 1908), the plaintiff shall be entitled to a certificate from the Court authorization him to receive back the full amount of the fee paid in respect of such plaint if the dispute referred by the Court is settled.
