TAMIL NADU MUNICIPAL POLICE (REPEAL) ACT, 2008

An Act to repeal the Tamil Nadu Municipal Police Act, 1878.
Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Tamil Nadu in the Fifty-ninth Year of the Republic of India as follows:—
1. Short title and commencement.— (i) This Act may be called the Tamil Nadu Municipal Police (Repeal) Act, 2008.
(ii) It shall come into force at once.
2. Repeal.- Tamil Nadu Municipal Police Act, 1878 (Tamil Nadu Act VII of 1878) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act) is hereby repealed.
3. Abatement of action taken.- All actions taken under the principal Act and all proceedings thereunder pending immediately before the commencement of this Act before any authority shall abate.
