THE ASSAM TRIBAL DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2005
An Act further to amend the Assam Tribal Development Authority Act, 1983.
Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Assam Tribal Development Authority Act, 1983 hereinafter referred to as the principal Act, in the manner, hereinafter appearing:
It is hereby enacted in the fifty-sixty year of the Republic of India as follows:-
Short title extent and commencement
1.(1) This Act may be called the Assam Tribal Development Authority (Amendment) Act, 2005.
(2) It shall have the like extent as the principal Act.
(3) It shall come in to force at once.
Amendment of the preamble
2. In the principal Act, in the Preamble, in between the words “Plains Tribal Areas” and “of the State”, the words “out side the Bodoland Teritorial Area District and other Autonomous Council Areas” shall be inserted.
Amendment of section 4
3. In the principal Act, in section 4, -
(i) for the existing clause (d), the following shall be substituted, namely:-
“(d) 2 (Two) President of Zilla Parishad elected against the reserved seat for Tribal 2 (Two) Social Worker of the Tribal community to be nominated by the Government out of which one should be woman.”
