LETTER FROM ARCHITECT WITH TERMS OF OFFER FOR HIS SERVICES
Dear Sir,?Proposed house at ___________.
In reference to our conversation at my office on [date], when you asked me to confirm the charges for my services, these are fully set out in the enclosed scale and may be summarised as follows:
As the proposed works will approximate some Rs. 4 lakhs in cost my scale fee is 8 per cent thereon.
This figure covers the preparation of the sketch design already approved by you, the preparation of working drawings, details, and specification, the obtaining of tenders and general supervision of the work, checking of accounts and certifying for payment of the contractor.
Two-thirds of the fee is payable when the contract documents are ready for signatures. If you require constant supervision of the works during execution it will be necessary for you to employ a clerk of works at your own charges as explained in the conditions of engagement and scale of professional charges enclosed.
As arranged between us, I am now proceeding with the preparation of working drawings. Meanwhile I shall be obliged if you will be good enough to acknowledge this letter.
Yours truly,
[Signature of architect]
