NATO TO PROVIDE NUCLEAR THREAT PROTECTION TO ‘‘UKRAINE’’
NATO’s {North Atlantic Treaty Organisation} leaders agreed to provide equipment and training to Ukraine to fight chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear threats by Russia. NATO secretary-general ‘Jens Stolenberg’ said forces are ready as long as necessary.
NATO leaders agreed to provide Ukraine with the requisite equipment to fight the possible use of chemical, biological, radiological, or even nuclear weapons by Russia. NATO countries agreed on the same at an emergency meeting of the western military alliance on Thursday to protect Ukraine from Russia’s attack. NATO chief Mr. Stolenberg after the emergency meeting for War In Ukraine on Thursday in Brussels said that ‘‘ The alliance was worried for the suspicion on Russia might deploy the weapons which are already banned by the international treaty because it seemed like Moscow was creating a false statement for the use of these weapons, and I expect allies will agree to provide additional support including equipment and with a major increase in the eastern part of the alliance - on land, in the air, and at sea, to help Ukraine to protect against the attack of Russia .’’ Mr. Stolenberg also said Russia to stop engaging in ‘‘nuclear saber-rattling’’ and repeated warning that Kremlin could be seeking ‘‘a pretext ‘’ for using chemical weapons as the warhead in the second month.
Washington and its allies have accused Russia of spreading an unproven claim that Ukraine had developed a biological weapons program as a possible pretext for potentially launching its own biological or chemical attacks. But no firm evidence has been provided to justify the said statement of Russia, but Mr. Stolenberg said such accusations on Ukraine ‘‘ may be a way for them to, in a way, try to create the pretext for their use of chemical weapons.’’ As an organization, NATO is not providing weapons to Ukraine. it aims to defend its members from the Russian attack. The 30- nation alliance denied sending troops to Ukraine, either for peacekeeping or for combat, and has said it will not deploy the aircraft for the protection of civilians and police of Ukraine.
NATO says that 40,000 Russian troops have been killed, grievously hurt, taken to prison, or are missing in Ukraine. Russia had started the war with roughly 190,000 troops and also brought in additional troops from the part of Chechnya, Syria, and other locations. Volodymyr Zelensky hailed his troops for taking back territory from the Russian forces as the Ukrainian president welcomed the US and Europe’s plans to hit Moscow with a fresh round of sanctions. the Ukrainian military raised a series of counterattacks and also claimed to retake the Makarov part of the capital Kyiv.
Kusti Salm, permanent secretary to the Estonian ministry of defense, told CNBC on Wednesday that Russia is ‘’clearly’’ preparing the groundwork to potentially use the chemical weapons.
But the president of the united states and other allies made it very clear that if Russia uses chemical weapons, there will be a higher price to pay in consideration to the step against the treaty.
