On Saturday Morning, India has surpassed Italy to be the World's Sixth Worst COVID-19 Hit Nation. India now has around 239,600 patients, among which, 114,000 have already recovered, i.e. around 50 percent.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced Nationwide Lockdown on 23rd March 2020 when India had only around 650 cases in total. Now, India has unlocked for the first phase when the cases are whopping around 200,000. Few events which are considered to be responsible for community spread of coronavirus are Tablighi Jamat and the "Namaste Trump" Event.
India had it's first COVID-19 case on January 30th when a student of a Chinese University returned to Kerala. The first 10 cases of India also happen to be from Kerala. Now, Kerala has one of the finest recovery rates across India.
The worst-hit state is Maharashtra, with around 80,000 cases. Maharashtra has also witnessed 35,000 recoveries and 2600 casualties.
Tamil Nadu and Gujarat are the Only States which, in spite of having a high number of confirmed infections, have a recovery rate of more than 50 percent. Gujarat is also counted in the list of most number of COVID-19 Deaths with 1190 Deaths.
National Capital's situation is turning out to be worst from day by day. Delhi is having around 26,000 patients with around 10,000 recoveries. Patients are facing difficulties to find Hospital Beds and Ventilators. In order to solve this problem, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal launched an App on Monday which shows the number of Available COVID-19 Beds and Ventilators. In Spite of that also, Private Hospitals are alleged demanding lakhs of rupees from patients, to which Delhi's Deputy CM Manish Sisodia reacted by saying it will take action against Private Hospitals.
Madhya Pradesh is also one of the worst-hit States with Indore being the Hotspot. Till now, it has reported around 8990 cases with 386 Deaths.
West Bengal also finds a place in the list with 7600 confirmed infections with 366 Deaths(72 Deaths are reported due to comorbidities). State's Capital, Kolkata is the hotspot with around 2700 patients.
The other states like Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Punjab have patients around 2000-3000 with a recovery rate of around 40-50 percent.
India is estimated to be on COVID-19 Infection Peak Point by The Mid of June. Public Places are opening Gradually in non-containment zones, starting from 8th June.
Cases in India is increasing at a rate of around 9000 cases per day, to which recoveries are almost half of it.
