After hearing a batch of PIL filed, the division bench of Justice Dipankar Datta and Justice GS Kulkarni, the court has suggested that e-pass should be generated to all the lawyers who want to attend the physical hearing and futter wanted to travel in Mumbai local trains because they do not have any private transport to travel expect local trains, by this step taken towards lawyers would be very beneficial and they will be able to travel with ease and can perform their duties and works.
The High Courts registry was directed by the Bombay High Court that they should issue a day-pass, especially for the lawyers who are attending the physical hearing in court and traveling in Mumbai local trains, this order to the court, was given by the State government and the Union of India, but the same was directed that this issuing of the order will be only on an experimental basis.
The said request was accepted by the Advocate General of Maharashtra and Additional Solicitor General of India, further, they submitted that few arrangements should be made by the advocates who want to issue this certification to travel which may involve getting access from the Registrar and after which they need to approach the railway authorities for the issuance of the pass for the same. The instructions for the same were taken by the railway authorities and the confirmation was been submitted.
This operation will be in effect from 18th September, 2020. Further, the court made a submission that the day will be allowed to the advocate who will be attending the physical hearing and the issuance of the certificate will be made from the registrar for that specific date only and it was confirmed that the lawyers would receive the pass via email for the particular date and will be issued to that concerned advocates only.
After this issuance of certificate the advocate can reach up to the railway authorities and can obtain the tickets for travel after presenting the certificate issued by the registrar, the pass would be verified by the authorities of the railway and the concerned advocate could then travel further for the hearing. This experiment basis is only till 7th October, 2020.
