The BCI has proclaimed an end to the tussle between the four senior Supreme Court Judges and the Chief Justice of India. The BCI chairman Manan Mishra stated thatrift has been ‘laid to rest’ and all the courts are functioning normally. He also asserted that as has been said the internal issue has been resolved without outside interference.
The BCI also said that it had met the CJI Misra in a ‘congenial atmosphere’ while taking back assurances from the Judges that the matter will be resolved soon. Mr Misra also said that since they didn’t want political meddling, everyone is discharging their duties diligently to come up with a resolution for the situation with the BCI playing a minimal role. The attorney General KK Venugopal has also pointed out to a successful resolution of the situation.
The spokesperson of the BJP Mr Navin Kohli said that the judiciary is an independent organisation and everyone that is a part of it is an independent institution by him/herself and that resolution should happen within the bounds of the judiciary which view was also seconded by various other politicians and members of the legal field.
