In the situation of Lockdown due to the COVID-19, there has been a major difficultly for the migrants in returning there home. On May 22, a woman has been alleged of cheating migrants for rupees 5000 on the false assurance saying that she will arrange train passes for the migrants to travel their home to Uttar Pradesh. The woman has been identified as Pushpa and she is the resident of Hadapsar as per police of that area. The women has been booked under the section 420 of IPC i.e cheating after an FIR was lodged by Rajesh Kumar Shamcharan Gautam aged 40 against the women named “pushpa”. According to the police Pushpa allegedly had taken rupees 1000 each from Gautam and his friends namely Rajesh kumar, Rohit kumar, Vijay Kumar and a woman, who are stuck in pune dur to Lockdown and wanted to travel their home in the state of Uttar Pradesh. After taking money from these people Pushpa assured that she will fill their forms and will get them their passes so they will have an ase in travelling all the way to UP by train. Ramesh Sathe, senior police inspector of Hadapsar Police station said, “We have not arrested the accused yet. Investigation is on. Complainants are migrants who wanted to go back to their native places in UP… We appeal the migrants not to give money in such manner to any private or unauthorized person for getting travel passes.” Pune city police have released a press mentioning that between may 9 and May 26 a total of 50 702 migrant have been sent back to their homes in the respective States safely. According to police, there were 5 trains available for migrants on May 26. More information was given by police about the trains scheduled on May 26 and mentioning the number of migrants that travelled in respective trains. They explicitly mentioned that hand sanitizers, masks, water and food items are made available for the migrants.
