Students who are looking for college admission this year will have to wait for more as earlier, UGC rolled out the idea of having a single entrance test for admission to colleges. But due to this Pandemic Situation, it is not possible to take the exam. Now, it depends on the decision of the respective institutes' authorities that how they can take the exam without a proper mechanism of the same.
An official from the UGC said that if CET is conducted, a large number of students will take the exam and in this current situation, it is not possible to take the exam for a vast number of students. The new dates for NEET-UG and JEE-Mai and JEE-Advanced have been announced but no state or central university has announced their exam dates so far.
Institutions like Aligarh Muslim University and Banaras Hindu University haven't announced their exam dates yet as they are waiting for a notification from the Ministry of Home Affairs to end the lockdown. JNU considers the exams to be taken by the National Testing Agency for which the dates were May 11-14 but till now, no new dates have been announced.
Delhi University takes around 50,000 UG students every year through entrance exams and cut-off based system but till now there's no clarity about either of these. The dates for cut-offs can't be released yet as CBSE is yet to conduct the remaining 10+2 exams and for the entrance tests. NTA is responsible for conducting the entrance tests for which they haven't announced the dates yet.
