The case of abetment to suicide which was registered against TV journalist Arnab Goswami and 2 others which was closed last year by the Raigad police will now be reopen and investigated by the state crime investigation department (CID). The home minister of Maharashtra Mr Anil Deshmukh said after following the request from the family members of a 53 year old interior designer Anvay Naik and his mother Kumud Naik, both of them who were found dead at their bungalow in Alibaug in May 2018 the case will be reopen and then re investigated by the crime investigation department. The case was closed last year by the Alibaug police stating that there were not enough evidences against Goswami, editor-in-chief of The Republic and two other who were chargesheeted in the case. Anvay Naik was the managing director of the interior designing and architecture firm, “concorde Designs Private Limited”, whereas his mother was one of the Board of directors of the firm. The Republic said earlier about the firm mentioning that they had paid all the dues of the firm “Concrode Designs”. The Home Minister of Maharashtra Anil Deshmukh has tweeted, “Adnya Naik had complained to me that Alibaug police had not investigated non-payment of dues from Arnab Goswami’s Republic which drove her entrepreneur father and grandma to suicide in May 2018. I’ve ordered a CID re-investigation of the case.” it was released by Adanya that during the investigation Police Head not inspected the angle of rupees 83 LAX that Goswami did not paid to her father,according to the her which was the main reason for the suicide. The superintendent of police of Raigad Anil paraskar said “We had registered a case of abetment to suicide against three persons when the body of the deceased was found based on the suicide note. However, last year in April, we submitted a summary report before a court stating that there was not enough evidence to file a chargesheet against the accused.” There were many suspects that Police found one of which was that Nayak may have killed his mother first and then have committed suicide, while body was found on the sofa on the ground floor and the caretaker of the bungalow found Anvay hanging from ceiling on the first floor. Police also found a suicide note written in English which says that they have to take this extreme step because of the payment that were due and we’re not cleared by the owners of three companies.
