Gujarat High Court now praises state govt: ‘we would have been dead’
The Gujarat Government made observations, regarding the handling of COVID 19 situations. Therefore a bench which was directed by the Chief Justice of India which immensely stated that, “if the state government would not have been doing anything, as alleged, then probably, by now, we all would have been dead”. Therefore the Divisional Bench which was comprised of the Justice J B Pardiwala and Justice Ilesh Vora, who said that the State Government was trying and controlling situations and then called the Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad as “as good as a dungeon”. This Bench also heard a PIL on 11th of May. Then a new bench which comprised of the Chief Justice Nath and Pardiwala heard the PIL. "The PIL is, in our opinion, meant for the benefit of the lost and the lonely ... PILs are not meant to advance political gain and seek political mileage ... In times of crisis, we must bind, not bicker. The Covid-19 crisis is not a political crisis but a humanitarian one. Therefore, it is imperative that this subject is not politicised. Uncertainty over Covid-19 and its impact on our economy makes it even more important that the government does the right thing in terms of its policies,” said the bench headed by Chief Justice Nath. Moreover then the Bench laid importance of the opposition party who then and there notifies correctly. Then the court immensely stressed on the outputs which should be cleared and must be overcome with high spirits so that public doesn’t face much. The court also directed the aliment regarding the medical protocols and stated that “so that no life is lost because of any kind of negligence”. Now the conditions have showed up pretty well by adding up healthcare staffs and 47 ventilators. The court on 22nd of May compared the conditions as ‘the sinking titanic’ and then they immensely stated that ‘We are very sad to say the Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad ... seems to be in an incredibly bad condition ... the Civil Hospital is supposed to treat patients. It does seem, however, that it is as good as a dungeon as it was on the date. Perhaps even worse than a dungeon,’ The total analysis sate that the deaths are “83.24% of the deceased patients suffered from severe comorbidities”.
