The Maharashtra State Government, on Saturday, decided to make two options for final-year students. First, graduating their course with the average marks of their previous semesters and second, if they are not satisfied with their marks, they can appear for the final semester examinations.
Chief Minister Uddhav Thackrey on Saturday said via video conference that both the options are under scrutiny and after checking the legality of the processes, further action will be taken.
He also said that looking at the uncertainty of the exam processes, students are in confusion that whether exams will take place or not. He further said that due to this COVID-19 pandemic, looking at the infection spread across the State of Maharashtra, examinations seems to be impossible as some universities have already declared their exam dates for the month of July.
Murlidhar Chander, Vice-Chancellor of Amravati University said that all the universities gave their opinion to CM Thackrey. He also decided on an alternative. After exploring the legality of the matter, he will take final decisions for conducting exams.
Later in a statement, CM said that whatever form of the exam is chosen, it will make sure that not even one student is affected by COVID-19. Preventive measures at it's best will be taken.
