On Tuesday Evening, India reached 200,000 COVID-19 cases out of which, 100,000 have already recovered. India also saw the highest single-day peak in the number with 8890 cases. Unfortunately, 221 people lost their lives yesterday due to COVID-19. With some positivity, 4500 people also recovered yesterday.
With the most number of active cases, recoveries, and deaths Maharashtra is acing the list with 72300 cases, out of which 31,300 have already recovered and unfortunately 2455 have lost their lives.
With 13,706 recoveries, Tamil Nadu has the highest recovery rate across the country. Out of 24000 confirmed cases, 10000 are active and with 200 unfortunate deaths.
On the Other Hand, Gujarat is having one of the highest recovery rates as well as one of the highest fatality rates in the country. Till now, Gujarat has 11800 recoveries and 1089 deaths out of 17300 confirmed cases.
The National Capital has around 9000 recoveries and 556 casualties. Till now, 22500 cases have been confirmed.
Coming to West Bengal, it is having one of the worst recovery rates. Out of 6500 confirmed cases, only 2400 patients have recovered and 335 casualties out of which 72 patients' death declaration showed the reason was due to comorbidities.
Bengal's neighboring state, Odisha has 991 active patients, 9 casualties, and 1300 recoveries out of 2200 cases.
Andhra Pradesh is also showing a good sign of recovery. Out of 3700 active cases, 2400 have already recovered with 64 unfortunate deaths.
Till now the States/UTs which have single or zero number of cases are Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Nagaland, Mizoram, Daman and Diu, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim.
To date, 36 States and UTs have been affected by COVID-19.
