For the first time ever since the nationwide Lockdown was pronounced in March, the government has now permitted foreign healthcare professionals, engineers and businessmen to visit India but they will have to get fresh visas.
In a notification the home ministry said that the foreign nationals who have a valid long-term multiple entry business visa, are supposed to get their travel documents validated again from the Indian missions.
“The Indian government has well thought-out the matter related to travel restrictions and relaxation of Visa for certain categories of foreign nationals who want to come back to India.
It has been decided to allow the subsequent class of foreign nationals to come back to India, as mentioned by the Home ministry on Wednesday.
Those who are permitted to come back to India are: foreign businessmen coming to India with a business visa (other than on B-3 visa which is for sports) in non-scheduled chartered and commercial flights.
Foreign health researchers, technicians, engineers and healthcare professionals who need to come for some sort of technical work at Indian health sector amenities, including factories and laboratories.
This is put through a letter of invitation from a registered and recognized healthcare amenity, registered Pharmaceutical Corporation or recognized university in India.
Foreign managerial, engineering, design or other specialists who need to travel back to India representing foreign business units located in India. It includes all kinds of software & IT units, manufacturing units, pecuniary sector corporations (banking as well as non-banking financial sector companies) and design units.
The government on 7th may launched a special mission under the name of Vande Bharat Mission for mass departure of the Indian nationals through sea and air who were stuck in foreign countries. Following this , it permitted Overseas citizen of India (OCI) cardholders who need to come back to India due to any kind of family emergencies.
