After certain CRPF personnel deployed at the Srinagar Wing of the High Court were found positive for COVID-19, Jammu and Kashmir High Court remained closed for 2 days i.e. 8th and 9th July.
The Registrar General J&K High Court, Mr. Jawad Ahmad informed "there are 8 CRPF personnel deployed at Srinagar High Court who have tested COVID positive due to which work has been suspended for 2 days at the High Court."
“As per SOPs issued by the Government, access to the High Court premises in the Srinagar wing of the High Court of J&K has to remain closed for two days for sanitization purposes. No person except the sanitation workers will be permitted entry into the High Court premises on the 8th and 9th of July, 2020.” - Notification issued by Registrar General, J&K High Court
It was further informed that important cases listed for the 8th and 9th of July would be taken up on the 10th of July. Dates in other matters will be given by the Bench Secretary and posted on the website of the High Court on July 11.
On 9th July, Thursday a circular was issued stating that only the litigants and counsel arguing is permitted in the premises of the court.
The entry to clerks has been restricted in the court premises as a precautionary measure amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
In case, where litigants or counsel wish to argue personally in a case listed in the advance list, then permissions have to be taken for the same.
Those persons entering the premises of court must follow:
- Wearing of mask
- Practicing rules regarding social distancing
- Use of hand sanitizer
- Thermal screening
