AAP Leader Suspended: Tahir Hussain Suspended- his involvement in Delhi riots
Suspended Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) councilor Tahir Hussain. Tahir Hussain has confessed about his role in North East Delhi Riots at Shaheen Bagh that took place in February this year against the Contentious Citizenship Amendment and the order passed regarding Ram Mandir to be built in Ayodhya. In his statement, while the process of interrogation done by Delhi Police, he claimed that he was the mastermind of the riots it was his plan behind all the miss happening caused in Delhi. He said that “he wanted to teach Hindus a lesson by using his political power and money”.
Tahir Hussain has been charged against section 302(murder) of the IPC in the case related to the so-called murder of Intelligence Bureau official Ankit Sharma during the riots. He was also charged under Section 201(disappearance of evidence or giving wrong information), and section 365(kidnapping) during the communal riots at Shaheen Bagh. On April 22nd he was also charged under the strangest provision of the unlawful activities (Prevention) Act and section 124 A(sedition).
When he got arrested Police looked out his custody in multiple cases relating to the riots which appealed over 50 deaths and 100’s were injured. On may 2nd the Karkardooma court also rejected his bail plea in the case related to the alleged murder of IB official Ankit Sharma.
In the Delhi Police interrogation file, Tahir Hussain ex Aam Aadmi Party Councillor admitted that he collected acid, petrol, diesel, and stones on his roof. Alongside he took his pistol from the police station to create violence. Tahir Hussain also stated that he met the former Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student Umar Khalid at Popular Front of India (PFI) office in Shaheen Bagh on 8th January. According to Delhi Police, his task was to collect as much as glass bottles, petrol, acid, stones as much as possible and store them on Tahir’s rooftop of his house. His friend Khalid Saifi was asked to collect as much as people on the streets of Shaheen Bagh for protest.
In Tahir’s statement during interrogation, he told police that Khalid Saifi along with his friend first started Dharna Protest in Khureji on the lines of Shaheen Bagh. “On February 4th in Abu Fazal Enclave, I met Khalid Saifi for planning the riots”. On February 4th it was decided to provoke people sitting on the anti- CAA strike. Khalid Saifi said that “something big has to be done when the President of the United States of America Mr. Donald Trump visit so that the government kneels”.
Tahir Hussain also said that “On 24th February according to our plan, I have collected many people on my rooftop of the house and taught them how to throw petrol bombs and acid bottles and stones. I had already shifted my family somewhere safe. On 24th February about 1:30, we started throwing stones”. According to the charge sheet, Tahir Hussain was the prime suspect in the murder case of IB official Ankit Sharma, whose body was recovered from a drain in Chand Bagh on 26th February, during the riots in Shaheen Bagh.
Conclusion
People like Tahir Hussain, Khalid Saifi, and others are a big threat to our country, and at the time when the COVID first wave was going to start, they planned a riot on a large scale in which many people died including Intelligence Bureau official Ankit Sharma and hundreds were injured. But Tahir Hussain got arrested and in the police investigation, he accepted that he was the main culprit behind the riots which took place at Shaheen Bagh. He claimed that it was he who provoked Muslim people against the Contentious Citizenship Amendment (CAA) act passed by the government and the order passed to build Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. He taught people how to throw acid bombs, petrol bombs stones on the Police officials during the riots from the rooftop of his house. In keeping all this in mind the Karkardooma court has rejected his bail plea in the Ankit Sharma murder case.
